     Fuji Finepix Camera

I'm very happy with this camera. This is my 3rd Fuji Finepix Camera. This camera takes very clear pictures and it's easy to use. The only think I wish this camera had is an easier way to select the video mode. My daughter has a Kodak Digital Camera and it has a dial on top to switch to different modes. With the Fuji you have to go to the screen and select the different modes.

Good camera while it still worked

This camera was very promising to begin with. The pictures were of good quality and that was good enough for me. However, after about six months, the camera would not take a picture. I could turn the camera on and all it said was "zoom error". I looked it up on line to find out if there was some way to fix it. I was able to get the camera to work for a little while longer by grabing the lens as soon as the camera was turned on and turning it to the left to unjam it. A few more times I got the "zoom error" and was able to fix it. The last time I was unable to fix it. When I did get it unjammed the picture quality was so blurry, I new it was already time for a new camera.
I paid $120 for the camera. I didn't expect an awesome camera for that money, but I wish it had lasted longer than it did. Dissapointed.

So so. B+ camera for the price. An honest review

Lets start saying that it's better to stick with same price range Sony cameras.
Pros - Great video quality . And that is all there is to it.
Cons - A lot and counting....

    No viewfinder of course.
This camera simply isn't made for low light or for night...painful when you realize.
Shutter functions a bit funny when you're in a hurry to take picture, some delay there when pressing the button.
Menu fonts are in low quality.
Greatest of all, within 2 weeks of owning the camera it had "zoom error" which is very common to this camera+ other Fujifilm cameras. Luckily they honored 1 year warranty replacement and I sent the camera back for repair. Received it fixed (or is it?) after some 1 months.

Now another game started. Once you are in video mode shooting under sunlight, immediately you find streak of 3/4 lines vertically starts to blur on the screen. Those lines are still visible after you capture the video.
And did I mention they kept my original receipt when I sent the camera for repair? This means next time within 1 year if the camera has any other issues I won't be eligible for a repair. Great work Fujifilm, you outsmarted me, NOT!!

But, I will be happy if the camera lasts some 3-4 years, considering it's price tag.

     A Great Pocket Camera

I purchased this camera as a replacement for my 5 mega pixel camera purchased in 2004. Six years is a long lifespan for a small digital camera and to this day the only complaint I have about the little HP is that the screen is so small. It still takes great photos, albeit in decent light. I bought this Fujifilm J38 simply because of the price and am amazed at the amount of features it contains. My photos look great even in low light and the ability to crop them on the preview screen is nice. I am very happy with it so far. Not sure if I'll like it as long as I did my HP, but so far so good.

     No DATE No TIME Stamp

I never imagined that there wouldn't be a date and time setting for my new camera.
I was shocked and perturbed to say the least when I discovered this. Fuji doesn't offer this feature on ANY of their cameras. I discovered this after the return period expired which, made me more upset.
I will never buy a Fuji and will make sure that I can have a date and time stamp for any important / date and time sensitive photos, when I get the next camera.
