After playing with some of the capabilities of the program, I like it. The program I used before was much different and it has been a little cumbersome to learn new jargon and a new way of editing my pictures.
The separation of the editor and organizer is irritating.
Using the share feature allows me to print and email pictures quickly without editing first as I did in my old program.

Illegal Photoshop 8 Elements

I purchased Photoshop Elements 8 from Amazon Marketplace. It was shipped to me from Kimingi on 8/4/2010. The invoice had:

"The DVD is usually sold as a camera bundle, but the camera is not included. New DVD only with activation code, no box or paper manual. Electronic manual within the software. Never registered 100% authentic and genuine software"

The picture on Amazon had the boxed version. It appears they were taking the DVD out of the bundle and selling it separately. The DVD states: "FOR BUNDLES ONLY. Not to be sold separately"

The product is great. I am currently working with Adobe Legal to resolve this and get a legal copy.

Don't buy it if you are running Windows 7

If your computer is using Windows 7, don't buy Photoshop Elements 8. The system requirements says that it is compatible with Windows 7 but that is a lie. It will not operate properly. On my computer, the editor will not load which pretty much defeats the whole purpose for buying the program. It does run on my computer with Vista, but the computer with Windows 7 has all my photos. Either Adobe knowlingly released PSE8 with this defect just so they could get it to market or they have a pathetic quality control function. Adobe refuses to address the compatibility issues with PSE8 and Windows 7. Oh yeah, they put out some assinine set of possible troubleshooting procedures that are absolutely useless to the average user. They have no credibility with me. DON'T BUY IT!!!! until they offer a suitable update.

Photoshop Elements 8 is great!

What a fun product to use with my photos! Easy to use and the results are fantastic.

Great price with rebates

I have thought about buying this a couple times, but never did. The Amazon deal of the day and the rebate made it such a low cost I had to finally get it. Haven't used it much, but I have a great need for video and photo editing since I have a Nikon SLR and a Sony HD camcorder. Lack of use is not the software, but the time I don't have to apply to creating DVDs and albums of all the photos and video.
