Kodak EasyShare C182 Digital Camera (Blue)

Kodak EasyShare C182 Digital Camera (Blue) I bought this camera because I wanted a cheap point-and-shoot. And that's what I got..a cheap camera. I thought I was going to break off the top of the battery compartment just to put the batteries in. I guess I should have added this first...it didn't work right out of the box. Tried multiple batteries with no success. Sent it back to Amazon the next day. I did get excellent service from Amazon and a fast, full refund.

Takes great dog pics and puppy pics. Also does an excellent job to document my weavings before they are sold. I'm lovin' this piece of equipment. I had to charge the battery yesterday (1 month on a charge is NOT bad)!

  • Canon PowerShot S95 10 MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch inch LCD

Canon PowerShot S95 10 MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch inch LCD I got this camera to replace my Canon SD880. I had considered getting the S90 but decided to wait to see if they fixed some of its usability issues. With the S95, they have.

I was looking for a camera that fits in my pocket, so that I can keep it with me all the time. I don't care about megapixels but I do want a good lens and sensor. As I learn more about photography, I wanted a camera that gave me a little more control than what most pocket cameras offer. In particular, I wanted good control over aperture, shutter speed, and exposure. The S95 gives me all of that, plus bracketing, RAW support, shallower depth of field, high ISO (simulated 12800), manual white balance (blue/ amber, green/ magenta), flash settings, sharpness, and a few other settings that will help me learn more about the technical aspects of photography that I wasn't able to try out with earlier pocket cameras I've owned.

There are also some features that might be interesting to try out: HDR, tilt-shift effect, stereo sound in movies, HD movies, movie wind noise reduction, focus tracking, face smile/ wink/ blink detection, saved custom settings, shadow correction, and some special effects. However, these aren't the reason I bought the S95.

Some cons: no viewfinder, thick (fits in my front pocket but not back or shirt pocket), small battery (estimated 200 shots), slow HD movies (720p, 24fps), no time lapse mode (although the tilt lens movies are time lapse), no front grip (although Richard Franiec's custom grip should be available soon).

If you're looking for a camera that fits in your pocket and gives you control over aperture, shutter speed, and so on, this is a good camera for you. If you don't care about pocketability, there are larger cameras to consider (like the LX5 or G11, mentioned by others). If you're looking for good movies I would look at the SD4000 or EX-FS10 instead. The S95 barely fits into a pocket; look at it in person before deciding whether you'd want to carry it around in your pocket. If you're looking for simplicity or thinness, this is not the camera for you. If you're looking for good macro or good zoom, other cameras (like the SD880 I previously used) are better. I would not recommend this as an upgrade to the S90 unless the usability issues are driving you mad, and if the usability issues don't bother you, you can save a bit of money by getting the S90 instead of the S95. If you want some of the advanced features from a DSLR but need something that fits in your pocket, the S95 is a good choice.

  • Canon PowerShot S90 10MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3-inch LCD

Canon PowerShot S90 10MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3-inch LCD Bought S90 to replace SD850 which I really liked and wanted to keep. After using it on 3 week vacation I am as happy with its features and picture quality as I am with my 50D. My only issures are the battery won't last a full day of shooting and the dial on the back of the camera is a little too easy to turn (switching functions). Otherwise great, versatile camera for those interested in more than just a point and shoot.

    Features

  • New 10-megapixel High Sensitivity System; DIGIC 4 Image Processor
  • Improved low-light image performance, plus a Low Light scene mode for ISO settings up to 12,800

  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 8x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Red)

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 8x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Red) For the money, I don't think you can beat this little camera. It's easy to use, easy to carry, has a long battery life and takes great pictures. Because of it's size, it can't really be expected to handle long distance pictures very well but the quality of the other pictures is very high, including night shots. For an easy-to-use, all purpose point-and-shoot, I absolutely recommend this camera.

  • Canon PowerShot SX20IS 12.1MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch Articulating LCD

Canon PowerShot SX20IS 12.1MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch Articulating LCD I must first say that except for a Fuji point and shoot, all my cameras are Canon so I may sound a bit like a Canon commercial but I really like this camera. I purchased this camera as an upgrade to my S5IS. I am planning a cruise and am always afraid to take my DSLR cameras and lenses with me for fear of loss or theft and because of weight restrictions on the plane. I used the S5IS on a trip to Bermuda and was thrilled with the results. I created a DVD slide presentation and even on a 50 in HDTV, the shots were fantastic. This camera produces even better pictures, 12 megapixels as apposed to 8 for the S5IS and a 20 times optical zoom as compared with 12 for S5IS. The SX20IS has better video, more features, and a much better zoom. I was amazed with the first shots I took and even when using the digital zoom, the noise was very tolerable and easily fixed with a good photo program. Using the digital zoom, I printed great 4 X 6 prints that were clear and sharp. I also have a Canon G10, a Canon T1i with an 18 -270 Tamaron lens, and a Canon XTI with a Sigma 18 - 200 lens. When I compared the quality of photos between the these cameras and the SX20IS the DSLR did win but not by that much. For the price, the SX20IS will be a great camera to take on a trip where space and weight are of a concern. I recommend this camera to anyone who wants an upper end quality point and shoot camera.

  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 12.1MP Digital Camera with 18x POWER Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7 inch LCD

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 12.1MP Digital Camera with 18x POWER Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7 inch LCD I received the camera shortly before I left for Yellowstone. While on our trip I took many outside scenery pictures and pictures of the family. They appeared to look good on the screen and when downloaded to the computer they were still very good pictures. The problems with the camera were in any low light situations the colors were not good (usually too red) and if there was any movement at all the pictures were blurred. I used the automatic mode, the sports mode, and the indoor party mode and none of them worked that well indoors. My reasons for returning the camera had less to do with the picture quality however and more to do with the fact that the camera locked up on me several times when going from one mode to another. Even if there wasn't an hour glass or message that the camera was busy it would not allow me to press the shutter button. I had to turn it off and then back on to get it to work on the new setting. One time when I turned the camera off it would not go off. I turned it off and on at least three times and then had to resort to taking the battery out to get it to go off. The picture quality of the outdoor pictures was almost good enough to get me to keep the camera however I was worried that if it was already locking up within the first few weeks that I might have received a lemon. Amazon was easy to deal with on the return.

  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD (Black)

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD (Black) I just bought the Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS7 4 days ago, and I've been nothing but pleased and amazed with it. I had read the reviews and watched multiple videos, and was frankly sold on getting the Fujifilm FinePix HS10, with it's 30X optical zoom and 1080p HD recording. I hadn't considered anything else. But I clicked on a banner ad for the DMC ZS7, liked what I saw, and researched further. I ultimately chose it over the FujiFilm HS10, and don't regret it.
Let's start with the DMC ZS7 zoom....it says right on the camera when you open the box "16X Intelligent Zoom". That's a combined 12X optical with a 4X digital. The 30X optical zoom was what drew me initially to the FujiFilm HS10. But guess what I discovered about the Lumix DMC ZS7?? Something that many reviews, both professional and amateur, seemed to have missed?? The DMC ZS7 is capable of an astounding 63.8X extended zoom!!! I discovered it in the vast array of submenus that are present on the camera. The firmware is lightning fast, and navigating menus is quick and effortless, and the 4-directional keypad works well and feels solid under your fingers as you use it. The camera is part plastic, part metal, and is heavy for a point and shoot, and I like that "not cheap" feeling. But about the zoom.
It's 12X optical plus 4X digital...so it says on the camera itself...and so many others have said...but after going through the array of submenus in the setup options, I found where you can turn on and extened digital zoom, an EXTRA 51.8X!!! No lie. Of course, it's grainy at best, and pixelized, but pics come out surprisingly well, and video, at the max range, are not as diluted as one might think. For best quality, stick with 16X--that's covered by Panasonic's proprietary "Intelligent Resolution", which keeps things hella-sharp. After that, yes, the pic and video quality degrade. But still, the max 63.8X zoom is bearable, and is helpful in situations where you just have to get up close. More expensive bridge megazoom cameras also get blurry and have focus issues as you max out the zoom. I know, I have an Olympus SP 570UZ bridge camera that does that. I can deal with it on a pocketable point and shoot!
I just uploaded a wealth of videos on YouTube displaying the zoom capabilities of the DMC ZS7; I don't have the link as I'm writing this. I'm going to try and upload some videos right here after I finish this review, and maybe find that link to the YouTube vids I posted.
DO GET A FAST, SANDISK, CLASS 10 20 OR 30 Mbps SDHC card!! It's what allows me to take video (by merely pressing one red dedicated "record" button) in 720p and brilliant, "punchy", 12 megapixel stills, with little to no delay between shots and recordings. Anything less would be...uncivilized...LOL. Seriously, Amazon has great cards at reasonable prices, and I purchased an 8GB SanDisk Class10 30Mbps read/ write Extreme card, and the choice is rewarding. No long waits between shots & recording, no BS.
I like the menus and indicators on the screen when you film. As you zoom, the actual number zoomX is printed on the screen and increases as you go all the way to 63.8X(extended zoom "on"). Not just a zoom bar. An icon shows what scene mode you're in, or what filter you're using (I like the "Film Grain" black and white setting, which adds an Old World style class and charm to your stills AND videos--yes, it works on videos, and the PinHole setting which makes you look through a virtual "pinhole" for that "peeping" effect) . When you record, the square reticule flashes red, a red dot above flashes, and there is an icon flashing with an arrow pointing to a memory card. You definitely know you're recording! No wondering. Stills same thing, just green. Every function you enact is clearly and visually displayed, nothing cryptic. Easy and bold and defined. Always know EXACTLY your function, filter, etc. Counts down recording seconds on screen, and time left on the card in seconds and minutes right on the screen. There's TWO PAGES of scene modes and filters. Multiple options for GPS (yes, there's a "bump" on the camera top that proudly displays the GPS logo). If you're into geo-tagging your filming and using them in iPhoto on Mac, it's my understanding it works great with "Faces". I have an Apple iMac 24" with iPhoto '09, but I haven't tried the GPS feature on the DMC ZS7 yet. It's well documented that it SEVERELY drains the included lithium battery (Amazon offers the exact replacement at a good price---get the original with the "PP" designation or it won't fit).
Quick note about importing to a Mac---When I tried to import my 1st stills and vids, my 8GB Sandisk Class10 Extreme card did not import everything-even on multiple tries. However, my Windows 7 HP laptop had NO problems EASILY importing ALL the content. Can't explain that yet. Not the card, otherwise why did it work on my Windows 7 laptop?
The 720p HD recordings on the DMC ZS7 are OUTSTANDING. I've seen test videos of the 1080p vids on the Fujifilm HS10 that can't hold a candle to what I get with the Lumix. Panasonic's algorithms for resolution and clarity REALLY are a tour-de-force to be reckoned with, and ACTUALLY WORK!! Zooming is smooth and fast (slower on vids, I admit, but still good). You have a "zoom resume" feature that allows you to cut the camera on from sleep mode, and start shooting with the exact zoom level you left off at. The sound is recorded from 2 mics set on the camera's top, and provide sterling audio. In options you can cut off the "wind effect" so that the sensitive mics don't pick up wind noises that might obliterate the more important audio in your recordings. You can control the LCD display brightness to 3 levels, and it is 460,000 pixels, not the standard 240,000, as the card attached to the camera says when you get it. That's evident when you play back your HD movies. I zoomed in on a float gliding across the pool, and you can actually see the "Inflate instructions" and safety precautions printed on it.
The exposure, one-touch recording button, and switch for playback and filming are located in the upper right corner on the back, and CAN be hit accidentally. I find myself consciously always trying to avoid that, though I've never had any "accidental" recordings or stills taken. But it is the only little nitpick I can think of on an otherwise "Joy-to-use", "easy-to-understand", PHENOMENAL point & shoot that is a pocketable, portable powerhouse. Like a mini-DSLR in your pocket. AMAZING performance (get the FAST card...). Oh! Just thought of another nitpick. There's vertical light streaks present when you film DIRECTLY into a light source, such as the sun, oncoming nighttime headlights, etc. But the lowlight capabilities on the DMC ZS7 are INCREDIBLE--zooming with little to no blur, and excellent clarity. Okay, this has become a Bible, and I've only had the camera 4 days. I'll update when I discover anything new or significant. These are my 1st impressions, and don't cover every technical aspect, so sorry. Just wanted to convey the pleasure of owning and using what has now replaced my more expensive Megazoom as my camera of choice---"What's the best Camera? The one you have with you..."
I forgot only one review can be submitted for a product here, but I wanted you to see how to achieve the 63.8X zoom for this Lumix, so go to YouTube and type this into the SEARCH bar: PANASONIC DMC-ZS7 INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO GET 63.8X ZOOM Take you straight to my video & others as well. Enjoy.

It has a few buttons and it is simple to use.
I wish I would have purchased this Nikon Coolpix L22 when it first came out.
Im tired of all the other name brand digital cameras that have way too many features.
With this camera you only need to read the manual once and your set to go.
I also love the fact that it uses standard batteries and I don't have to charge it.
It does not come with a memory card so I would recommend purchasing one with at least 4gb.

  • Canon PowerShot G11 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Wide Angle Optical Stabilized Zoom and 2.8-inch articulating LCD

Canon PowerShot G11 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Wide Angle Optical Stabilized Zoom and 2.8-inch articulating LCD I like the G11 and it is my primary camera. I recently upgraded from the SD850 so it is a nice improvement from that camera. It's not pocket sized like the 850 but it fits nicely in a case that attached to my belt.

It has some nice features on it: it does exposure bracketing, it has a dial on top for exposure compensation and another for ISO speed, and two custom setting modes.

I've been happy with the picture quality and the features. The only thing that could use improvement I think would be it's abilities in low light. The pictures get kind of noisy at high ISOs.

For me it was worth the $450 price. If I had to pick again I would pick the G11.

Nikon D3000 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens Camera has great picture quality and is really easy to use. Shipping was really fast.I love my new D3000. I've only recently gotten big into photography, and after having joined the college Photography Society and playing with what they had, as well as stealing my father's Olympus on occasion for our trips around Ireland, I NEEDED to get my own camera. As described, it's lighter than the Canon and perfect for someone just starting off with digital photography, and is sick of the regular point and shoots. Can't stop me from snapping now!

  • Canon EOS Rebel T2i 18 MP CMOS APS-C Digital SLR Camera with 3.0-Inch LCD and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens

Canon EOS Rebel T2i 18 MP CMOS APS-C Digital SLR Camera with 3.0-Inch LCD and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens OVERVIEW -
This camera really is fantastic. Offering just the right balance for any beginner starting out or a professional looking for a mid-level DSLR with video capabilities. Upgrading from a Rebel XT i was able to reuse a lot, such as the lenses, filters, and shutter release cable, though the battery has changed. There are some that say a dedicated video device will always be better than a tacked on feature and in many cases they're probably right, but I feel like I can capture some really creative angles and shots with the vast amount of lenses, adapters and filters such as the lensbaby available for SLRs I know it wont go unused to any owner.

    PROS -
+ The screen is just big and beautiful your photos will really pop on it. I recommend a screen protector to keep it pristine. I always go with Zagg InvisibleShields for any device I get.
+ The noise levels in photos even at high ISO is extremely impressive.
+ Live View even in Full Auto mode
+ Uses SD, SDHC, SDXC cards. This is subjective, I know, my previous DSLR used Compact Flash but SD cards are quickly getting cheaper and faster. Note: a class 6 or higher card is needed for video recording.
+ Can use both EF and EF-S lenses.

    Side note:
+ When paired with a Eye-Fi Pro X2 there are built in menus to take advantage of the cards built-in wifi. Highly recommend this card it's expensive but the Geotagging and "endless memory" mode for some would make it well worth it. http:/ / www.amazon.com/ Eye-Fi-Class-Wireless-Memory-EYE-FI-8PC/ dp/ B002UT42UI/ ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1283562433&sr=1-1

    CONS -
    - Camera can get toasty when recording video heavily.
    - Battery drains quickly and gets hot during video recording
    - Autofocus while recording video is hit or miss maybe it's just me and I haven't quite figured it out yet.
    - I wish there was a few more controls when shooting video, and a faster FPS. Though you can get 60fps in 720p.

I've only had the camera for a short while so I can only comment on the aspects that I've been able to really test. But overall this is a very nice camera.

Also note that Canon has recently announced a slightly more expensive 60D which looks very promising and has an articulating screen and better weather proofing.

Canon EOS Rebel T1i 15.1 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 3-Inch LCD and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens Very good camera for the money, but not with IS lenses... if you want good picture quality by USM lenses, easy to use, very light camera for DSLR. I have this camera for almost 1 year and the battery life is very good. I would recommend T1i to a friend if you look for camera about 600-800 $...

  • Nikon Coolpix S8000 14.2 MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD (Black)

Nikon Coolpix S8000 14.2 MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD (Black) A wonder digicam. Even a novice can become an expert with such details on the menu. If you have a passion for photography this a never-miss cam.The first one stopped holding a charge and I had a hard time getting it to turn on. The second one lost it's charge and I couldn't get it to turn on at all. The third one, I took it out of the box and it wouldn't even turn on the first time. Done! So I purchased a Panasonic-ZR3 which is also 14mp, 10X zoom and 25mm lens. It's also cheaper. I loved the Panasonic Lumix I had before.

Besides the fact that it wouldn't turn on, there were so many things about this camera I didn't like. (I used the first one for about 3 months before it stopped working.)

The flash is such an obvious flaw I can't believe it went to production. If you hold the camera with two hands, a finger naturally goes over the flash, which then can't pop up. You get used to it, but never mind giving the camera to someone else to shoot the picture unless you explain not to put their finger there....because they will every time....and you lose the picture you were trying to get, or have to do it over.

The on button is tiny and inverted into the camera. So even if the battery charges correctly, it usually took several pushes to get it to come on.

The shutter in front of the lens constantly stuck open or closed.

The video quality is so poor it's almost not worth using. The mic is on top of the camera.

It can only be charge with a USB cord. Which is cumbersome if you have to recharge away from home.

The camera just overall is unreliable, flimsy, and unpredictable. The pictures are great, no doubt. But I don't think that's the camera, but the 14 mp. Very high maintenance camera!!

  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 8x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Black)

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 8x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Black) I did a bunch of research before buying this camera - and boy did it pay off! This little monster is the neatest thing since sliced bread. The Intelligent Auto feature lets me take beautiful pictures every time - and I am somewhere below rank amateur. It shows things the way I see them, and I don't have to monkey around with lenses and light adjustments. It's much lighter weight than I expected - the heaviest part is the telescoping lens. Use the string to make sure you don't drop this baby.

Oh, you will want to read the instructions that come with it - unless you speak pictograph. The only English is on the front of the camera.

    Features

  • 14.1-megapixel effective recording
  • 8X optical zoom (4X digital zoom/32X total zoom)
  • 2-11/16" LCD screen
  • Optical image stabilization
  • Sonic Speed AF for quick focusing on moving subjects
